API Terms of Use

Last updated: 11 July 2026

1. INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE

These API Terms of Use (the “API Terms”) govern your access to and use of the PlatPrices developer API (the “API”), made available at platprices.com/api.php (v1) and platprices.com/api/v2 (v2), and described on our Developers page. The API is a self-service product: there is no separate signed contract. By requesting, receiving, or using an API key, you agree to be bound by these API Terms in addition to our general Terms of Service, our Legal Notice & Disclaimer, our Copyright Policy, and our Privacy Policy, each of which is incorporated into these API Terms by reference. Where these API Terms conflict with the general Terms of Service on a matter specific to API access, these API Terms control.

If you do not agree with any part of these API Terms, you must not request, activate, or use an API key or the API. If you access the Site through means other than the API (for example, as a signed-in browsing user, or through our browser extension), your use of those features remains governed by the general Terms of Service, and Section 9 of those Terms (Browser Extension) rather than these API Terms.

2. DEFINITIONS

To make these API Terms easier to read, the following terms have the meaning given to them below wherever they are used, whether capitalised or not, unless the context clearly requires otherwise:

  • “API” or “API Services” — the PlatPrices developer API in all of its available versions (currently the legacy v1 endpoint at api.php and the current v2 REST API at /api/v2), including all endpoints, response data, rate-limit and account-management features (such as GET /api/v2/account, GET /api/v2/account/usage and PUT /api/v2/account/regions) made available through it.
  • “API Key” — the unique credential issued to you that authenticates your requests to the API and is used to track your plan, quota, allowed regions and usage.
  • “Documentation” — the reference material describing how to use the API, published on our Developers page and at /api/v2/docs, as updated from time to time.
  • “API Data” — any data, content or information returned by the API, including pricing, price history, sale and discount information, catalogue and product metadata, and trophy information.
  • “You” or “your” — the individual or entity that requests, holds, or uses an API Key, and, where applicable, the application, site, or service in which the API is integrated.
  • “We”, “us” or “our” — Webnetic s. r. o., the company that owns and operates PlatPrices.com, identified in full in Section 10 below.

3. API KEY ISSUANCE AND SECURITY

To obtain an API Key you must submit a request describing your project through our API request form; we review submissions individually and, where approved, issue a key by e-mail, generally within one to two business days. We may decline a request, or condition approval on a particular plan, region set, or usage restriction, at our sole discretion — for example, we do not issue keys for personal-use bots, private scripts, or local databases built primarily for your own use rather than to serve a public audience, and we do not issue keys for projects intended to replicate, mirror, or bypass the Site. Each API Key is associated with a plan (Free or a paid tier) that determines its monthly request quota, allowed store regions, list-endpoint page size, and price-history window, as published on the Developers page from time to time.

You are solely responsible for keeping your API Key confidential and secure, and for all activity that occurs through it, whether or not you authorised that activity, except to the extent it results from our failure to keep the API reasonably secure. You must not share, publish, or embed your API Key in a way that exposes it to the public (for example, in public client-side code, a public repository, or a browser extension's source), and you must not sell, rent, lease, transfer, or sublicense your API Key to any other person. If you believe your API Key has been lost, exposed, or compromised, you must notify us promptly at [email protected] and, where the API provides a self-service mechanism to do so, regenerate or rotate it yourself. We may revoke, suspend, throttle, or regenerate an API Key at any time, with or without prior notice, if we reasonably believe it has been compromised, is being used in violation of these API Terms, or otherwise poses a security or abuse risk. If you have linked your API Key to a PlatPrices Account, your developer dashboard shows your current plan, quota, usage history, and region settings.

4. ACCEPTABLE USE OF THE API

You agree to use the API only for its intended purpose — to retrieve and display API Data within your own application, site, dashboard, analytics tool, or user-facing alert — and only in a lawful manner and in accordance with the Documentation. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, when using the API you agree that you will not, and will not attempt to, encourage, or assist any third party to:

  • redistribute, resell, sublicense, publish, or otherwise make available any bulk or raw export of API Data to any third party, whether for a fee or free of charge, without our prior written permission;
  • use the API, or API Data obtained through it, to build, operate, or maintain a product or service that duplicates or directly competes with PlatPrices' core offering (for example, a competing PlayStation price-tracking site, a competing wishlist sale-alert service, or a mirror/local replica of our catalogue or price-history database);
  • represent, imply, or hold out that API Data originates from you or from any source other than PlatPrices, or otherwise obscure or misattribute its origin where attribution is required by your plan;
  • use the API for commercial purposes on the Free plan; the Free plan is provided for evaluation and non-commercial projects only, and commercial use of any kind requires a paid plan;
  • exceed, circumvent, bypass, or attempt to circumvent the rate limits, monthly request quota, region restrictions, or page-size limits associated with your plan, including by registering or using multiple accounts or API Keys to obtain a combined quota greater than the one your plan entitles you to;
  • send a volume or pattern of requests to the API that is excessive, abusive, or that places an unreasonable load on our infrastructure, including denial-of-service-like request bursts, tight polling loops, or repeatedly re-requesting data that has not changed and could instead be cached on your side, as the Documentation recommends;
  • scrape, crawl, or otherwise access platprices.com by means other than the API in order to obtain data at a volume, frequency, or in a manner that the API's rate limits and plan quotas are designed to govern;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to any account, API Key, server, network, database or system connected to the API, or probe, scan, or test its vulnerability, without our prior written permission (responsible security researchers should instead contact us at [email protected]);
  • use the API in connection with any unlawful purpose, or in a way that infringes any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, database, or other intellectual-property or proprietary right of any party; or
  • use the API to build a product intended primarily for your own private, personal use rather than to serve a genuine, public user base, including personal Telegram or Discord price-alert bots, private scripts, or local databases.

Where your plan requires attribution, you must display “Powered by PlatPrices”, linked to platprices.com, wherever API Data is shown publicly; the current attribution requirement for each plan is set out on the Developers page. Rate limits, monthly quotas, allowed regions, and page sizes are governed by your plan and by the Documentation, and may be changed by us from time to time as described in Section 9 below; we do not commit to a specific numeric rate limit in these API Terms, as limits are plan-dependent and may be adjusted — a reasonable, plan-appropriate rate limit currently applies to every key, and every API response and the X-RateLimit-Remaining / X-RateLimit-Reset headers (v2) or the apiLimit / apiUsage fields (v1) tell you where you currently stand. We actively monitor for abusive automated traffic and reserve the right to rate-limit, throttle, suspend, or permanently revoke, without prior notice, any API Key, account, IP address, or address range that we reasonably believe is engaged in conduct prohibited by this Section, in addition to any other remedies available to us under these API Terms, the general Terms of Service, or at law.

5. DATA OWNERSHIP AND NO WARRANTY OF ACCURACY

API Data — including pricing, sale and discount information, catalogue and product metadata, cover art, and trophy data — is collected and compiled automatically from publicly available third-party sources, principally public PlayStation storefronts and related publicly accessible services, and, where applicable, from PlayStation Network account data you or a linked account choose to share with us. Product titles, cover art, screenshots, descriptions, trophy data, publisher and developer names, logos and trademarks referenced in API Data are the property of their respective owners (including, without limitation, Sony Interactive Entertainment and individual game publishers and developers); we do not claim ownership over such third-party material. Our own compilation, structuring, formatting and presentation of API Data — including derived fields such as price-history calculations, deal/discount indicators, and difficulty or trophy-time estimates — is the property of Webnetic s. r. o. and is protected by copyright, database, and other intellectual-property laws, and is licensed to you for use within your application solely as permitted by these API Terms.

API Data is provided strictly on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Because API Data is collected automatically from third-party sources outside of our control, we make no representation or warranty of any kind, express or implied, as to its accuracy, completeness, reliability, timeliness, or fitness for any particular purpose. Prices, availability, regional pricing, discount windows, and catalogue information may be delayed, incomplete, inaccurate, or out of date, and may change or become unavailable at any time without notice from us or from the relevant storefront. You must not rely on API Data as the sole basis for a purchasing, pricing, or business decision, and you remain responsible for verifying critical data directly with the relevant storefront where accuracy matters to you or your users.

6. SERVICE AVAILABILITY

We do not guarantee that the API will be available on an uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free basis. The API may be unavailable from time to time due to scheduled or emergency maintenance, upstream data-source outages, infrastructure issues, or events outside of our reasonable control. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion and at any time, to modify, restrict, suspend, or discontinue the API or any part of it (including individual endpoints, fields, plans, quotas, or the legacy v1 endpoint, which is scheduled for retirement as announced on the Developers page), with or without prior notice, and without liability to you, except where notice is expressly promised elsewhere (for example, advance notice of a deprecation date already published for v1). We make no commitment, express or implied, to any particular level of uptime, response time, or service-level availability, and no such commitment should be inferred from these API Terms, the Documentation, or any other communication from us unless expressly and separately agreed in writing.

7. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, in no event will Webnetic s. r. o., its officers, directors, employees, or agents be liable to you for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, business interruption, or other intangible losses, arising out of or in connection with your access to or use of, or inability to access or use, the API or any API Data, whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), statute, or any other legal theory, and whether or not we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Without limiting the foregoing, we will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from API Data that is inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, or out of date, from any interruption, suspension, throttling, or discontinuation of the API, or from any decision made or action taken by you or your end users in reliance on API Data.

Nothing in these API Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under the law of the Slovak Republic or the European Union, including any mandatory rights available to you as a consumer under the law of your country of habitual residence.

8. TERMINATION OF API ACCESS

We may suspend, throttle, or permanently revoke your API Key or your access to the API, in whole or in part, at any time and without prior notice, if we reasonably believe that you have violated these API Terms (including the acceptable-use restrictions in Section 4), engaged in fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity, exceeded or attempted to circumvent your plan's limits, or created a risk of harm, security exposure, or legal exposure to us, other users, or any third party. Where a violation is minor and not repeated, we will generally attempt to notify you (typically by e-mail to the contact address associated with your key) and give you a reasonable opportunity to correct it before taking action, but we are not obliged to do so, particularly in cases of suspected fraud, abuse, or security risk.

You may stop using the API, or request that we deactivate your API Key, at any time by contacting [email protected]; if your key is linked to a PlatPrices Account, deleting that Account from the Your Data & Privacy page also deactivates any linked API Keys. Upon termination of your API access for any reason, your right to use the API ceases immediately, and any licence granted to you over API Data already retrieved is limited to the uses permitted by these API Terms while your key was active; you must stop using API Data obtained through the API for any new purpose once your access has been terminated for cause. Provisions of these API Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including Sections 5, 7, 8 and 10 — will continue to apply after your API access ends.

9. CHANGES TO THESE API TERMS

We may revise and update these API Terms, the Documentation, our plans, rate limits, quotas, and region availability from time to time, at our sole discretion, to reflect changes to the API, our practices, or for legal, regulatory, or operational reasons. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates when these API Terms were last revised. For changes that we consider material — such as a reduction in a plan's quota, a change to acceptable use, or the retirement of an API version — we will make reasonable efforts to bring them to your attention in advance, for example through a notice on the Developers page or, where we hold your contact e-mail address, by e-mail. Your continued use of the API following the effective date of any revised API Terms constitutes your acceptance of those changes; if you do not agree with the revised API Terms, you must stop using the API and may request deactivation of your API Key as described in Section 8.

10. GOVERNING LAW, CONTROLLER AND CONTACT

These API Terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter (including non-contractual disputes or claims), are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Slovak Republic, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles, and, where applicable, the directly applicable law of the European Union. The courts of the Slovak Republic will have jurisdiction to settle any dispute arising out of or in connection with these API Terms, without prejudice to any mandatory right you may have, as a consumer, to bring proceedings before the courts of the country in which you are domiciled, or to rely on the protection afforded to you by the mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the law of your country of habitual residence, which these API Terms do not affect or limit.

The operator of the API is .

If you have any questions, concerns, or requests about these API Terms, an API Key, or your use of the API — including requesting a key, reporting suspected abuse or a compromised key, or asking about a specific use case — please contact us by e-mail at [email protected], via our contact page, or via our support desk. For questions specifically about how we process your personal data in connection with the API (such as API request logs linked to your account), see our Privacy Policy.
